Lemon Chiffon Water Lily

Hardy yellow water lily with double lemon-yellow blooms and mottled lily pads. Ideal for small to medium water gardens. Fully hardy cultivar with reliable, consistent blooming from June to September. Spread of about 60 cm when established. Classic hardy water lily perfect for natural-looking garden ponds. The cultivar Lemon Chiffon is an American hybrid known for its pale yellow flowers that are unique insofar as they resemble those of tropical night bloomers, with thicker and more compact stamens.

Plant rhizomes in spring to summer during growing season in fine mesh aquatic basket with aquatic soil. Fertilize regularly with aquatic fertilizer tablets or capsules for sustained blooming. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooming and direct energy toward producing new blooms. Initially place pot just below water surface, gradually lower as plant grows to established depth. Low maintenance once established. Blooms open morning and close afternoon. Each flower lasts several days. Requires still, clean water and excellent drainage.
